Bitmap images are made with pixels, and when scaled larger or smaller they image can distortion.

Vector images can instead be scaled without losing the quality.

2. What are Auto Shapes, and where can you find them?

Auto Shapes can be found in Adobe Fireworks and they are tools that create shapes in a set orientation.
The shape can be edited and modify by points. 

3. What is the Pen tool used for?

The Pen Tool is the common tool to draw curves, by joining points.

4. What does the Compound Shape tool do?

Compound shape helps to create shapes with different vectors.
